Investing in Your New Business: Cash, or Sweat Equity
If you're working from a home office, your startup costs will be minimal. However, you need some capital, for setting up a website, and marketing.
No money? if you have nothing to invest, getting your business up and running will take longer, and you'll have to devote more time to "free" marketing solutions.
I ADORE copywriting. I fell into it completely by accident, and have no idea why I love it. It's probably because I enjoy thinking about persuasion, and I love playing with words and ideas.
This week, I've had several messages from writers who need money. Big surprise. One wrote a Kindle novel which isn't doing very well. Telling her that one novel doesn't make a career as a novelist wouldn't help very much, so I suggested she consider copywriting.
Not only is copywriting lucrative and fun, but she can also write her novels as a sideline activity. Once she's written three or four novels, her career as a novelist will take off.
And once she's learned how to write copy, she'll always have a way to bring in income.
