I’ve been suggesting that my students emphasize MARKETING and SALES, rather than copywriting for around a year. I didn’t think about it much. It’s just commonsense. Many clients, especially those who are new to hiring copywriters, are confused about what copywriters do.
When I started talking about the devaluation of “copywriting” however, I found something I had to pass on to you – you’ll make more income if you start qualifying yourself as a marketing and sales copywriter.
My students found that they were not only getting better gigs, but they were also making more money. Previously, they’d struggled to make $80 an hour. They were making double, and triple that hourly rate, once they changed what they called themselves.
