1. You’re Over Deadline.
It happens. You’ve got ten client projects. Suddenly you’re horrified to realize that the project you thought was due next week was due yesterday. Oops…
Your first step: contact the client immediately, and apologize. Say you’ve just realized you’ve missed the deadline, and will deliver on ____ (date.) Don’t over-explain. The client doesn’t care about your reasons. He just wants his delivery. Make the new deadline realistic.
Next, move the project to the top of your project queue. Shuffle projects. Contact other clients who’ll be affected by this, and apologize to them as you readjust their delivery dates.
