Your clients will be pleased to help you. All you need to do is ASK. Most people enjoy helping others.
If someone sends me an email message or calls me and tells me they're starting as a copywriter, and asks me questions, I'm only too pleased to respond. I love what I do, and I like to share my enthusiasm with others. Interacting with a new copywriter helps me: it revives my zeal and reminds me why I love this business.
Call agencies (advertising, multimedia, graphics design) and ask whether someone has time to give you an informational interview. These interviews are invaluable, because you get to speak to people who are doing business right where you are, and you also get to make contacts. When you make the appointment, follow through on it and attend. Be there on time, and listen more than you speak. Take lots of notes --- record the interview if you can --- and take any samples you're offered.
BIG TIP: when you work with clients, don’t hesitate to tell them that you're new at copywriting. They'll be make allowances for that, and they will be prepared to help you all they can.
