Don't have a Web site? Not a problem; Google has released the Beta of their long-awaited database service. Look on it as Google super-classifieds.
Read the Google Blog announcement here.
How could you use Google Base? You could:
* post items you have for sale
* post articles and other writing
* post services you offer
* post help-wanted ads
The items you post to the Base aren't permanent, they're online for up to a month, then they expire. Around the blogosphere, people are confused about the ways in which they'll use Google Base.
However, it's probably a way to get into Google faster. For example, I've created a new eponymous Web site: angelabooth.com. Currently I'm not getting any Google traffic. The site's only been up for a month, so that's to be expected. Using Google Base may be a way to get listed on Google itself faster.
