The short answer is I don't. I've got so much to do every day I wish I could clone myself. :-)
If you're struggling with not writing enough, here's what will help: a writing schedule.
Even if you're completely new to making money writing, you can create a schedule. With a schedule, you WILL make money writing, there's no way you can stop the money flowing in.
Here's how to create a schedule, if you're a new writer who's never sold a single word.
1. Make a List of All the Writing You Want to Do
Firstly, what do you want to write? Make a list. Your list could include: Web articles, articles for magazines, a mystery novel, a nonfiction book about your experiences as _________ (fill in the blank), a blog, a screenplay, short stories...
Create the list, and post it somewhere you'll see it every day.
Keep adding to this list, as you think of more things you want to write.
2. Choose Two or More Things You Want to Write This Week
Here's where the rubber hits the road. :-)
Choose at least two items from your list which you want to write this week. You could choose to write the first chapter of your novel, and five Web articles.
Or a short story and five blog posts.
Or ... whatever you choose.
Now here's the thing. You must COMMIT to writing the items you've decided to write this week. No excuses. Even if you're so sick you're dizzy and seeing double as you stare at the computer screen, commit to writing what you've chosen.
Commitment is a choice. You can choose to commit, or not. But if you commit, do it.
3. Schedule Those Items Into Your Calendar
Now you've chosen your two or more items, schedule them into your calendar. You'll need to work out how long each item will take you, then block off those hours in your calender. (BTW, I've started using Chandler to list my writing projects - it's free and I recommend it.)
4. Write First, Before You Do Anything else
If you're a new writer, I suggest you write first, before you start your day. It's easier. When you've just woken up, the demands of the day are pretty loose, so you can concentrate on your writing. The house is quiet too, so you have some "alone" time.
Get up an hour earlier. You can do it. :-) When my children were small, my day started at 4am, and I wrote for three hours before everyone else was up.
5. Repeat!
Repeat the above items. Before you know it, you'll have a highly successful writing career. You can accomplish anything you choose, when you WRITE.
Write more - become a pro writer
Yes, you can write more and become an expert writer - even if you're a world-class procrastinator.
Did you know that when you write more, your writing improves? Many of my writing students experience this. They find that when they write more, writing is easier for them - they're not dominated by their inner editor.
My new writing class, "Write More And Make More Money From Your Writing: Develop A Fast, Fun Productive Writing Process" is based on lessons I developed for my private coaching students to help them to write more, improve their writing, and make more money writing.
If you're struggling with your writing, the class will help. The techniques you'll learn in class with help you write fiction, nonfiction, and copy for business.
