Do you have a To Do list? I'm sure you do.
I'm also sure that every day, more tasks creep onto that list.
Over time, your To Do list becomes overwhelming. You can't bear to look at it, and you procrastinate.
That's not the way to succeed as a writer.
You need to move items from your To Do list, to your Done list... every day.
Here's a simple way to do that.
Pick one item a day, that's your "Today" item. Just one.
No matter what else happens today, commit to doing that ONE item. If you think the item will take longer than 20 minutes, chunk it down into 20 minute sessions, and just commit to one session today.
Committing to one item clears your mind.
Your To Do list no longer looks overwhelming.
Often, that impetus from doing one item inspires you to do another, and another. If it doesn't that's fine too.
Just move one item from your To Do list, to Done, today.
